MOUNTAINBROOK CLUB, INC.POOL RULESELIGIBILITY: Only Club members and persons living in their home are eligible to use the pool. Adult children of a member living outside the home are eligible to use the pool as a guest. However, members are allowed to bring their grandchildren without paying a guest fee. They should register them at the guardhouse or list them on their application/renewal form. Non-member residents of the Mountainbrook subdivision are not allowed to use the pool even as a guest. GUESTS: Fees for Mecklenburg County residents will be as follows: $3.00 per person on weekdays, $5.00 per person on week-ends & holidays. Guests must be registered and fees paid to the pool manager or lifeguard on duty before using the pool. House guests may swim free when accompanied by a member. POOL AREA 1. Running, rough or boisterous conduct will not be tolerated. Persons violating this rule will be ejected from the pool at the discretion of any staff member. 2. Members and guests are not to engage in conversations with the lifeguards while they are on duty. 3. No pets are allowed in the pool area. 4. No abusive or objectionable language will be permitted on club property. 5. Food may be consumed under the sheltered pool area. Cigarettes and trash must be disposed of in trash containers. No glass containers of any kind are allowed in the pool area. 6. No alcoholic beverages shall be consumed on club property at any time except when specifically allowed at officially sponsored adult parties. 7. The cost of any property damage due to negligence or vandalism will be charged to the responsible member. 8. No unauthorized person will be allowed near the filter plant at any time. 9. No smoking on club property by anyone 18 and under. POOL 10. Non-adult, non-swimmers shall not be permitted to use the swimming pool unless accompanied by a responsible teenager or older person who shall keep constant watch on the non-swimmer. A "swimmer" is one aged 7 or over who has passed the Red Cross Advance Beginner's Swimming Test or who has demonstrated to the Pool Manager a swimming ability comparable to the advanced beginner. 11. Admission shall be refused to anyone with skin abrasions, colds, coughs, inflamed eyes, infections or wearing bandages. 12. Children who are not toilet trained are permitted in the large pool only when wearing the reusable swim- diaper pants purchased at Mountainbrook Club. 13. All bathers should shower before entering the pool. Parents should remind their children to use the lavatory. 14. No "kickboards" allowed during free swim unless authorized by the staff. Swimmies, life jackets and other safely attached flotation devices are allowed. 15. Use of soft toys are permitted when used safely. Diving toys (rings or sticks) can be used with caution at the staffs discretion. Small toys that may float into skimmers are prohibited. 16. Inflatable rafts are allowed on "raft days" and at sanctioned pool parties. For safety reasons, large rafts and rafts and tubes with bottom are highly discouraged. Noodles are allowed. WADING POOL 17. Use of the wading pool shall be limited to children 5 years of age or under or less than 48" tall, when accompanied by an adult or responsible teenager. DIVING BOARD 18. Use restricted to swimmers skilled enough to jump safely and swim unassisted to the ladder. 19. Only one person is allowed on each diving board at a time. The next person must wait until the diver has gone off before climbing onto the board. 20. No one is allowed more than one bounce per dive off the diving board. SLIDE 21. Only one person is allowed on the sliding board at one time, including the ladder. 22. Only 2 positions are safe on the slide: forward sitting up and on stomach. 23. Swimmers must be 6 years old to use the slide alone. Under 6 yrs., parents are responsible for the safety of their children. 24. No, "swimmies" or life jackets allowed on the slide. PARKING LOT 25. Members shall drive slowly in the driveway and parking area. All bicycles are to be parked in the prescribed area. 26. Skateboarding shall be restricted to the club parking lot area. GENERAL 27. During inclement weather, the pool may be closed at the discretion of the Pool Manger. 28. The Pool Manager and lifeguards are empowered to enforce these rules. POOL PARTIES POLICY
